One of the most popular types of origami is bicolour origami. Bicolour origami uses two different colours of paper to create objects with contrasting patterns and designs. Bicolour origami can be more challenging than single-colour origami, but it can also be more rewarding.

This collection of flat bicolour origami symbols is a great way to get started with bicolour origami. The symbols are simple to fold and can be used to create a variety of different projects.

Materials

To make these symbols, you will need the following materials:

  • Two sheets of origami paper (one in each colour)
  • Scissors
  • Ruler or measuring tape
  • Pencil or pen

Instructions

To make a flat bicolour origami symbol, follow these instructions:

  1. Start with two sheets of origami paper, one in each colour.
  2. Fold one sheet of paper in half diagonally to create a triangle.
  3. Unfold the paper and fold it in half again, this time along the other diagonal to create a square.
  4. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along each of the four sides to create a smaller square.
  5. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along each of the two diagonals to create a smaller square.
  6. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "X" shape in the centre.
  7. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "Y" shape in the centre.
  8. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "+" shape in the centre.
  9. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "T" shape in the centre.
  10. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "L" shape in the centre.
  11. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "R" shape in the centre.
  12. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "S" shape in the centre.
  13. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "D" shape in the centre.
  14. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "F" shape in the centre.
  15. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "G" shape in the centre.
  16. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines that create the "H" shape in the centre.
  17. Unfold the paper and fold it in half along the two lines
