Interview with Julie Chen, Founder of Jalan Jalan

I recently had the opportunity to interview Julie Chen about her blog and her family's travels. Here's what she had to say:

What inspired you to start Jalan Jalan?

I started Jalan Jalan because I wanted to share my love of travel with other parents. I believe that travel is one of the best ways to learn about different cultures and to bond as a family. I wanted to show other parents that it is possible to travel with kids, even young ones.

What are some of your favorite family travel destinations?

We have been fortunate to travel to many amazing places with our kids. Some of our favorite destinations include:

  • Bali, Indonesia
  • Tokyo, Japan
  • Rome, Italy
  • Paris, France
  • Hawaii, USA

What are some tips for parents who want to travel with their kids?

Here are a few tips for parents who want to travel with their kids:

  • Start small. Don't try to do too much on your first trip. Choose a destination that is relatively easy to get to and that has plenty of family-friendly activities.
  • Be flexible. Things don't always go according to plan when you're traveling with kids. Be prepared to change your itinerary if necessary.
  • Pack light. You don't want to be lugging around a lot of heavy bags. Pack only the essentials and leave room for souvenirs.
  • Have fun! Traveling with kids should be a fun and rewarding experience. Don't stress about the small stuff and just enjoy the journey.

What are your plans for the future of Jalan Jalan?

I hope to continue to inspire and help other parents who want to travel with their kids. I am also working on a book about family travel. I am excited to see what the future holds for Jalan Jalan!

Jalan Jalan is a valuable resource for parents who are looking for inspiration and advice on family travel. Julie Chen's writing is engaging and informative, and her blog is full of beautiful photos and helpful tips. If you're looking for a way to make travel more fun and fulfilling for your family, Jalan Jalan is a great place to start.
